Majid Niazkar

Education: 

Majid Niazkar holds a PhD in Civil Engineering – Water Resources at the Shiraz University (Iran).

Professional experience:

Previously, he worked as postdoctoral researcher at Shiraz University, University of Milan, and Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He currently works at Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) and also affiliated with Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

Research interests:

His research interests are water resources, hydroinformatics, and climate change impact assessment.

Authorship records:

He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed publications with more than 1580 citations in Google scholar (h-index: 23). He has been selected as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists in 2020 and 2021. One of his papers was recognized by web of science as a highly-cited paper.

Editorship records:

He is one of the associate editors of Computer Applications in Engineering Education”, and serves as academic editor for Journal of Water Management Modeling”, "Discover Applied Sciences", "Discover Civil Engineering", "Discover Water", and "PLOS ONE"He is one of the editors of the book named "Water Resource Modeling and Computational Technologies", which was published by Elsevier in October 2022. He is the lead guest editor of several special issues, e.g., “Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Water Resources Using Machine Learning Algorithms” in the “Journal of Water & Climate Change”. 

As a reviewer:

He has more than 440 verified peer reviews and more than 30 verified editor records on his Web of Science profile (h-index: 19). He won the 2022 and 2023 outstanding reviewer award of the Water (Switzerland) journal. He was also recognized as the top reviewer in 2023 for the section of hydrology and hydraulics of Acta Geophysica.
