Majid Niazkar received his BS degree in Civil Engineering, MS degree in Hydraulic Structures and PhD degree in Water Resources from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran.
He has three years of postdoctoral experiences at the Shiraz University, University of Milan, and Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
He is one of the editors of the book named "Water Resource Modeling and Computational Technologies", which was published by Elsevier in October 2022. He is the guest editor of several special issues, e.g., “Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Water Resources Using Machine Learning Algorithms” in the “Journal of Water & Climate Change”. He joined the editorial board of “Journal of Water Management Modeling”.
He has been selected as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists in 2020 and 2021.
He has published more than 70 publications (peer-reviewed international journal papers, book chapters and conference papers). His publications have more than 1150 citations in Google scholar (h-index: 20). He has more than 350 verified reviews for more than 40 international journals on his Web of Science profile (h-index: 16). He won the 2022 outstanding reviewer award of the Water (Switzerland) journal. He was also recognized as the top reviewer in 2023 for the section of hydrology and hydraulics of Acta Geophysica.
His research interests are Water Resources and Hydroinformatics.
